I recently learned about the effects of kinesio taping on menstrual pain. I wanted to chat more about this with all of you lovely people and even tell you about a cute product you can use to try this pain relief method.
Kinesio tape gently lifts the skin, improves circulation, and supports the muscles around your lower abdomen and back. It can help ease tension, reduce bloating, and even calm inflammation. If you have ever found yourself putting light pressure on your belly or lifting your belly up when you have cramps, this might work wonders for you.
My personal favorite kinesio tape for this is from Tina Healthcare. Tina's soothing stickies are cute so they might lift your mood, while lifting your skin. They are precut for easy application and they are from a truly amazing company.
To apply kinesio tape/soothing stickies for cramps, 2 spots work; your abdomen and your lower back. Now, where you apply would depend on where you have your cramps.
To apply on the abdomen, you will need 2 small strips. For the first strip, place it vertically with gentle tension just below your belly button. To create tension, place one end on your skin first and rub it briefly, stretch the other end of the strip as you place it to your skin. For the second strip, place it horizontally over the other strip, make sure this strip is directly over the area in which you feel the most pain.
To apply on the lower back, you will need 1 or 2 strips. You will place 1 or 2 of the horizontally over the area that you feel the most pain. Make sure to stretch it as you place it.
Kinesio taping is definitely worth a try if you experience menstrual pain. It’s simple, non-invasive, and gives your body the support it needs to feel more balanced during your cycle. I hope you find some relief if you try this method.
