Seed Cycling

If you use TikTok, chances are you've come across at least one video about seed cycling. Now, I personally do not seed cycle, but I have come prepared with as much information as I could find about the topic.

The basic premise of seed cycling is that you consume different seeds at each stage of your cycle. These seeds are said to contain vitamins and minerals that you need at each specific phase. These seeds are said to support your hormones and help with PMS symptoms.

Seeds for seed cycling need to be raw and freshly ground. You can buy them pre-mixed and pre-ground or do it yourself!

The following are the recommended seeds and dosage for each phase of your cycle.

Follicular and Ovulation (Days 1-14ish of your cycle)

- 1-2 tablespoons of flaxseeds and pumpkin seeds (raw and ground)

Ovulation to Luteul (Days 14ish-28ish of your cycle)

- 1-2 tablespoons of sunflower seeds and sesame seeds (raw and ground)

It is important to note that each woman's cycle is different and that ovulation and menstruation do not always land on the same day of the cycle. The best method to incorporate seed cycling is to also track your period, with a tracking app or your calendar.

It is also important to note that seed cycling is not for everyone and their cycle. It is just one of the many things that women can try to assist them during their cycle.

If you feel inclined to give seed cycling a try, I urge you to check out the resources I linked at the bottom of this post.

Until next time, happy menstruating!
